Matthew Inman, a prominent Florida Democratic activist and leader of the Rainbow Democrats, has been arrested on charges related to possessing and transmitting child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
Inman, 39, served as the Treasurer for the Orange County Democratic Party. He is also the President of the Rainbow Democrats, a nonprofit group that advocates for inclusivity and unity among LGBTQ individuals within the Democratic Party. Known for his vocal support of Kamala Harris and strong opposition to Donald Trump, Inman has been a visible figure in Florida politics.
The charges stem from an investigation conducted by the FBI. Between August and October 2024, Inman allegedly received and saved multiple CSAM videos showing abusive behavior toward children. In October, while in Las Vegas, he communicated with an undercover officer posing as the father of a 9-year-old boy. During these communications, Inman expressed a desire to harm the child and sent explicit materials.
FBI agents executed a search warrant at Inman’s home and discovered evidence of the illegal materials on his devices. Authorities say Inman tried to delete the materials and avoid arrest by hiding in the attic.
Inman now faces serious federal charges, including the transportation of child sexual abuse material. If convicted, he could face a minimum of five years in prison, with a possible maximum of 20 years.
This case is part of the Department of Justice’s ongoing Project Safe Childhood initiative, which targets child exploitation and abuse nationwide.
Inman is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
